Located in the heart of historic Lancaster, Arteria is housed in a recently restored 1800s building with the shop distinctively integrated over two open plan floors.
Throughout the ground floor beautiful creative displays illustrate the best of contemporary living and located on the first floor is Gallery 23 exhibiting a diverse range of contemporary artwork and crafts from leading and national artists.

The City Museum is
housed in Lancaster's former Town Hall, built in 1781-3 to the
designs of Major Thomas Jarrett and Thomas Harrison. The Museum
itself was founded in 1923 and its newly redisplayed collections
illustrate the history and archaeology of the city of Lancaster,
the most northerly and rural part of Lancashire. It contains the

The 2D Gallery offers a free exhibition space to local artists in Lancaster, and does not take commission. The space is open to the public and has over 400 individuals passing through it every week. A free, public, welcoming space.

This museum occupies two
historic buildings on St. George's Quay, the main 18th century harbour.
It was opened in 1985 and has won many awards. The former Custom
House of 1764, designed by Richard Gillow, contains displays on
the history of the Port of Lancaster and the local fishing industry,
with a gallery for exhibitions. In the adjacent warehouse are displays
on the Lancaster Canal and the ecology of Morecambe Bay. Several
preserved vessels are also displayed, including 'Sir William Priestley'
and 'Coronation Rose'. There is a cafeteria and shop and parking
is available at the rear.

The award-winning building
Ruskin Library holds the world's largest collection of material
relating to the great writer, artist and social critic John Ruskin
(1819-1900).
Lancaster's Peter Scott Gallery presents a varied programme of temporary exhibitions and associated talks. Admission is free of charge and everyone is welcome. The art gallery holds the most significant collection of Royal Lancastrian ceramics in Britain, which is on permanent display in the John Chambers Ceramics Room. During exhibitions the Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster is open Monday - Friday 11am-5pm, Saturdays 11am-4pm and during performance nights until the start of the event in the Great Hall or Nuffield Theatre. The gallery was established in October 2001 providing a small inviting gallery with a huge selection of artwork including original work and collectable limited editions by international and local artists.

Originally based in a warehouse on the quayside, the studios are now in premises adjacent to the Storey. Luneside Studios is an arts collective of over 25 years standing, providing space for visual artists working in various media, particularly oil and canvas. The artists' paintings and other art work can be viewed on the gallery pages online.
