If I’d known that I was about to witness rock history I’d have gone prepared. As it was, the best that I could manage was to take this grainy picture on a mobile phone.
Perfidia played their first public gig at Hornby Institute on 30 August 2008. A mixture of old rockers who won’t fade away and younger rockers with the same attitude, this new local band performed a stirring list of raw, punchy, in-your-face rock standards ranging from Presley via the Beatles, Hendrix and Van Morrison to their own ‘Standing at the Crossroads’.
If you get the chance to see this local band play then make the effort. This grainy picture could be worth a fortune in years to come. As for me …to adapt one of Lennon & McCartney’s lyrics from that night … I’ll never dance with another when I saw Perfidia standing there.
